Brian Ombaka

Program Manager, Community Health & County Lead

Ombaka Brian is our Community Health Manager and County Lead. He provides technical support to the Ministry of Health and peer organisations in a bid to scale up our community–led health model. Brian is passionate about the relationship between health data and policy. He believes that as we move toward an age where data plays a crucial role in global health development practices there is need to improve our understanding of it. We should also make data more accessible to policy-makers. Before Lwala, Brian worked with Strategic Application International and the United States Institute of Peace and Empyrean Research. He is an alum of various leadership programs including; Generation Change Fellowship, Clinton Global Initiative, and Associate of Royal Commonwealth Society. Brian holds an MPH with specialization in Epidemiology and Disease control from Moi University, BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from JKUAT and is currently pursuing PhD in Epidemiology at KEMRI Graduate School. He believes when communities come together, great things are bound to happen.
