Christine Aoko Odongo is Lwala’s Hospital Administrator responsible for daily operations, infrastructure and quality of services. Prior to Lwala, Christine worked as a nurse at AIC Kijabe Mission Hospital supporting emergency cases and resuscitations. In 2011, she worked for the University of Nairobi in collaboration with the University of Washington and Kenyatta National Hospital focusing on HIV prevalence among pregnant and postnatal mothers. She holds a nursing diploma from AIC Kijabe School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from The University of Nairobi. She joined Lwala in 2014 as a nurse for our Prevention of Mother-to-Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT) program. She has since served many roles from head nurse to clinical services coordinator and now hospital administrator. “At Lwala, I really enjoy what I do, serving humanity” she says. “Over the years I’ve seen growth in myself, in my team members, and in the hospital. Lwala gives its staff members and its patients the support needed to thrive.”
