Elijah Gichora is a public health and health systems strengthening specialist with over 17 years of experience in health programme management, policy, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and resource mobilization. He currently serves as External Affairs Specialist – Advocacy, Policy and Partnerships at Lwala Community Alliance, where he leads policy engagement and partnerships to advance Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and Primary Health Care (PHC) in collaboration with county governments, the Ministry of Health, the Council of Governors, and development partners.
Elijah has extensive experience in designing and implementing health programmes, strengthening health systems, and supporting the development of national and county health policies in areas such as Primary Health Care, RMNCAH, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), WASH, and health financing.
Previously, he held technical and leadership roles with the USAID Primary Health Care Support Programme, CIHEB Kenya, Plan International, Food for the Hungry, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), CARE International, and the Aga Khan Foundation.
He holds a Master's degree in Public Health and is passionate about advancing equitable healthcare, strengthening health systems, and empowering communities to achieve better health outcomes.
