hello world!

Steve Okongo

Program Coordinator, Maternal & Child Health

As the Maternal & Child Health Coordinator, Steve oversees Lwala-supported community health workers. Steve grew up in Lwala, and he joined our team as an intern during his final year of university because he wanted to bring change to his community. Steve holds a Masters in Public Health specializing in Epidemiology and Population Health (Maseno University), a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health (Moi University), a Diploma in Project Management (Kenya Institute of Management), a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) (AMREF Health Africa), a Certificate in Health Care Skills (Basic Nursing Skills) (Moi University), a Certificate in Protecting Human Research Participants (PHRP Online Training, LLC), and a Certificate in Strategic Innovations in Community Health Programmes (INSEAD, France). Steve is inspired to work with Lwala because he wants to make an impact on his own community, especially on the lives of the mothers and children that he works with.

Agency, health, and wholeness of life.
